Bed swap?

2000 F-150XL with extended cab.

Will a stepside bed swap out with a fleetside???

im pretty sure they are the same frame mounts... 99% that is. The filler neck might be different and obviously the tail lights and bumper.

I've dented up my fleetside bed fairly well on the farm, looking at a really really nice silver stepsoide and they look really nice!

The beds are easy to take off. I just drench any nutplates I can get to with penetrant and have at it.
You could just pull your bed, or pull it and leave two bolts holding it, drive to the location of the new bed, and set the new bed it on the chassis to check. If it fits, bolt it down and drive off. Use anti-seize on the bolts. The bed bolts are 5.0 Torx.
