One thought is you have a vacuum leak or an intake leak. The engine is having a really hard time running when it's sucking ice cold air in where it shouldn't on an ice cold motor.

Once it warms up it is either A) having an easier time dealing with the vacuum leak since the engine heats up the incoming air quickly, or B) the metal of the engine is expanding with the heat and is actually sealing the vacuum leak (ie. around the manifolds).

First, welcome to FTE and the Big Bronco Forum. We will endeavor to get you the most accurate information we can muster.

Too much guess work with the information at hand. I suggest running a KOEO test and if you can get it to run long enough to warm it to operating temp. run a KOER test as well. Fault codes will better pinpoint where the problem lies. Instructions and information on the tests mentioned and how to administer them here!
