I just installed a set of aftermarket rear trailing arms for my 2000 Expy. I searched high and low and found a company through my Google search for Expedition Trailing Arms that built a high quality product at a fantastic price. Man, I am so stoked! They bolted right up with my original hardware. I was even given the opportunity to request the color of arms and bushings. I got silver powder coat with red bushings for my red Expy. Yes, my wife thinks I am crazy for being so excited about a product. She was pretty excited herself when she realized how much money I saved not having to buy from the Ford dealer. Be sure to check these out if you are in need like I was.
they were on sale 5% off when i bought them for mine and i believe they were only $498.00....that was for uppers/ lowers/ and hardware.....definitely a smokin' deal and much better than the stock running gear! also, cost is much less than oem and with hardware and a color choice to boot!
wow...the red looks great! i ordered silver for mine, maybe i should have ordered red. they really look great! how was your install? mine only took about 1 hour for all four. they fit like a glove! one at a time is the way to go for sure!!
Installed one at a time but took about 3 hours, the drivers side lower front original bolt there is not enough clearance to remove bolt due to fuel tank is in the way. Instead of messing with tank I cut head of bolt off and pushed through ( good thing I got new hardware ) and upper rear on pass. side I could not break loose even after soaking with PB Blaster so had to break the torch out to heat nut up cherry red then came off no problem. Other than that job was no problem and fit was not a problem. The length was the same as the original unlike the Ford replacement which changed length buy 1/4" as reported by other people here.
I did not have a color preference, I just wanted what ever I could get fastest and after talking to PMT they can't keep these on the shelves. Red just came back from powder coating, so red it is.
fyi....i talked to the guys who made my rear arms and they also make the panhard bar. it is not listed in their store yet but i ordered mine today to match the trailing arms i bought from them. they make it from the same material as the lower arms. i can't wait to get it!! if it anything like the the trailing arms, it will be nothing short of impressive!!
