I was wondering how hard it is to remove the cab of my truck. I want to redo the suspension and a guy at my work says to take off the cab so we can have all the rome we need. I know I want to replace the bushings, but is it really worth it? Any advise helps thanks
Ryan
Pulling the cab will gain you nothing for suspension access. Pulling the nose off, maybe, but then you need to re-align it on there.
To pull the nose, just take out the three bolts on each side where the inner fender brace bolts to the firewall brace, the bolts holding the spray shields to the firewall, and the two front mount bolts. Drain the radiator and remove it, unplug the harness connectors at the firewall and from the engine, and then two guys can remove the nose easily.
There is zero point in removing body parts. You have all the room you need under the truck and will gain zero by removing the cab! Besides the cab is not even above any parts you are going to work on.
My truck is down to bare frame. The only thing I haven't taken off is the cab. You can see what I'm working with in my profile. See the guy at my work says that taking the cab off will make it easier for the two of us to put on my Crown Vic front end and redo the rear suspension to even the truck since the CV suspension will lower my truck 5"-6". I never done any of this before so I have no idea what to do.
Pull the cab if you are doing a frame off, that way you can clean the frame under the cab. BTW, I looked at the pics in your gallery. The doors you have are from a 1967 not a 1972. They are oddballs and year specific to 1967 as nothing from 1968-1972 will fit them (except the window glass) if you need parts.

The things that guys add when they post again.
Sorry bub there was no flashing light in your profile saying major restore project going on here. I would have given a different reply.
How long have you been on the project and when do you expect completion?
I knew that my doors were from a different truck, b/c when I first got the truck in April of 09' I wanted to check the title to VIN tag. The VIN tag on the door came up as a 67 F350. I didn't know about the 67' doors being different. I want to make this truck just a crusier. The Mustang I had was never reliable so I want to make sure this trucks runs and looks good. I have been working on the truck since March 09' all by myself. This is all a learning experience for me. I love to work on cars and this is my chance to fix one up so I want to do it a little more than half ***. I'm young so I have plenty of time it's the money factor
Well, in that case, spend 15 minutes to take the 4 bolts out & lift it off. The "guy at your work" should've known this, since he's a master chassis expert & all.
Oh come on now don't start being an ***. The guy at work and I know how to get the cab off the frame. I know where the four bolts are and we have a fork lift at work. I just read in another thread that a guy had trouble with the removal. I will take it off tommrrow night. For anyone that wants to be a smart *** what should I do just undo the bolts and pull? On the doors, is this gonna be a issue for me later?
Unfortunately, there is one in every forum. Why he is picking on you, I haven't a clue.

Don't forget the e-brake cable or the steering shaft if you haven't already done so. Then it is just the 4 bolts. If you haven't pulled the tank, you will have to, to get to the back bolts. Be prepared to do some repair work to the mounts as they liked to collect salt and rust. The doors will fit and work fine, just remember what year they are if you need to get parts. Been there, done that.
I'd go ahead and pull the cab. It's not a lot of work, and it's worth it to check out your cab mounts, and get a good look at your rockers and such on the bottom side. I'm doing the same with my 67.
