Which kind and size of tires to buy?

After driving on bald pro comps for the last 6months I have to finally do something about it.. ive been putting it off because I didnt know how long I wanted to keep the truck and I hate the american raceing wheels they are mounted on.. been wanting some nice stock alloys for a while

I bought set off craigslist, they are the 10spoke ones with the center caps that attach to the lugs i thing they were on the later models.... guy also sold me a mint pair of lighting headlights and blinkers. I havent started looking at tires yet. I want something to fill the wheel wells some.. but I the truck really doenst go off road a better ride then what i"ve been use to would be nice, its my daily driver

I searched but there was just sooo much mixed info about it. anyone have any suggestions? what size should I be looking at?

trucks a '99 F150 fourwheel drive "offroad" supercab

What size rims did you get? Is the truck lifted?

16" or 17"? Both sizes have been available from the factory. It will make a difference, as a 285 will be taller on a 17 than on a 16.

What rim diameter did you have, what are you going to, what size came on it from the factory, and what size are you running now?

Mine has 33x12.50-17's on 17x7.5 factory rims, no lift except for leveling the front. I think they're a tad larger than a 285/70-17. Mine came originally with 265/70-17.

You should be able to go up a couple of sizes (245 to 265 for example) without any problems. Maybe more, but it depends on what you started with. If your truck came with the low option tiny tires, you've got room to grow, if it came with the big tire package, not so much. Know what I mean?
