I'll recommend SCT, its the only one that properly takes care of the transmission. Why didn't you care for it? Have you tried custom tunes from a respected tuner like Eric at Innovative Diesel?

Well i had some from Spartan diesel but I went threw 2 transmissions and i rarly had it on the highest setting. Most of it was my fault i always screwed somthing up when i had a little bit of liquid courage in me so i really shouldnt say i didnt like it. I have just always heard good things about the bullydog. Im just kinda hesitant about putting another programmer in my truck but my fuel milage sucks and i want somthing that is good for towing and fuel milage.

I have some Spartan tunes and don't like how they shift. I'm ordering tunes from Eric at Innovative soon and he's supposed to have about the best trans tuning.

If you have used the Spartan free tunes then those are somewhat better then off-the-shelf tuning, but they aren't far from it.

Speaking as someone that has had the Bullydog, I wouldn't get it. Power was good, but it shifted like crap and that's mainly due to the fact that it doesn't properly tune the transmission(or really the ECM to be honest with you).

Same issue with Banks except you pay top dollar due to how much they spend on ads and the like. It doesn't tune your ECM and TCM either.

Anything that is shift on the fly is mutually exclusive from properly tuning your vehicle. Stick with the SCT and get tunes from Eric or RCD. You might have to work with them til the tunes work exactly right, but they will be far better then what you can get with the two tunes that you've specifically mentioned or the others that are along the lines of those tuners.

As to mileage, you're "whistling dixie" on that. This is a performance enhancer, if you happen to see better mileage then great, that's a bonus, but that's all that it is.

I should chime in. I get within 0.5mpg from stock to a 150hp tune on the highway. I just don't see an improvement in mileage with a tuner.
