Driver side door lock

I would greatly appreciate any and all advice on the addition of a driver side door lock on my 1954 F100.

I taped and scribed the drivers side and measured it then transferred it to the passenger side and cut it out. I used a small triangle file to get the small square ends.

Fortunately the Ford drivers door lock/latch mechanism is already setup for the key lock and all you have to do is add the key lock portion as jaye described above.

So, you know you need to drill a hole in the door - just measure the position of the one in the passenger side door. Drill a small pilot hole first.

The lock cylinders and keys are available at LMC for $70, but also C&G for under $50.

Here is the C&G link:

You can take the lock cylinder to a locksmith (and some do not have the pins to do it so keep looking if they say no - they CAN do it) before you install it and have it rekeyed to the same key as the other side. For that matter, you can take them both in and have them rekeyed to the same key as your ignition switch - if you have a glove box door lock take that too. One key!
