volare owners (not yet assembled) request for help

I need some measurements near the 4 bolts that hold the upper A arm to the subframe.

I have been asked to put a spacer plate under those 4 bolts. but I think it has to be 2 plates (on each A arm) because the shock goes thru there in the middle..

So, how big is the space where those 4 bolts are? 1in by 4 in? 1.5in by 3?

what is the spacing of the bolts? how big is the hole the bolts go thru?

I am hoping to make these spacer plates in advance

jack up lower arm,
remove wheel,
pop upper ball joint,
remove 4 bolts, add spacers, tighten,
reinstall upper ball joint,
then reinstall wheel.
(repeat for other A arm)

Mine are roughly 1.5 on one side and 3.25 on the other but my question is why? If it's height adjustment that can be done through the torsion bars.

by adding these spacers under the upper A arm, you move the top of the wheel out more, allowing more CAMBER adjustment which helps drivability. They also make special upper A Arm rods with a small step notch as well (but you have to destroy your rubber bushing to get them out/in).. second pic

what is the hole spacing for the two bolts? how far from the end of your 3.25 inch piece and how far apart?

thank you

Sam
I am talking about these bolts, circled..

apologize, I don't understand your words.

the flat area around the bolts is 1.5 (A) by 3.25 (B from below)

in that flat space the lower bolt is x.xx from the end of the 3.25 (D from below)
and the spacing between the two bolts, center to center is x.xx (C from below)
the bolt hole size is .xx (thinking 5/8-3/4 is enough here) (would be E)

Mine is a rolling chassis but i can get to it easy. For the life of me i don't remember the size of the bolts. I was measuring C which is 3" center to center. (A) is right at 1.5 and (B) you can go 3.5, (D) is 3/4 of an inch but when assembled there's a little more room if needed.

I hope this helps i was never real good with technical stuff but i try.

ok, sorry, the numbers don't add up..

I would expect that B would eqqual C + D + D.
right now you said B = 3.5, and C = 3, and D = .75.

so I have 3.5 = 3 + .75 + .75 = 4.5

so, did you mean B = 4.5?

turns out the front piece is 4.5in long, with the rear is only 3.

the front holes are 3 1/8in apart, while the rears are just under 1.5in.
