Service Error P0171
For anyone interested, it was a vacuum leak near the idle controller valve. A faulty PVC valve could have caused this leak... Ford put a hose that has a 45 on it and will break sooner or later. One of the dead giveaways was that the catalytic convertor was over heating. I gather from talking to the tech that when you get certain error codes it might have nothing to do with censors malfunctioning…

All you had to do was spray clean the mass air flow sensor with electronic cleaner instead of replacing it.
