i think my winshield just might have an "accident" this weekend and get an whole new winshield. Was all you electrical acting crazy when your gem got wet? If so...did it stopped when it totally dried out?
Unfortunately my 00 expy is in the shop right now for a bad GEM/GCM and they told me that they had to order the part and that it is about $140. I asked them if it maybe went out because it had maybe gotten wet since we had just received several inches of rain. They said that it did not appear to have gotten wet but that Ford has had some problems with these. My stereo was acting up (only work in park or neutral) and dash lights would flash on and off and also a clicking sound from under the dash. Hopefully this will take care of it. I called an actual ford shop and they quoted me an even higher price than what I was quoted to fix.
Had the same problem with my '97 Expedition XLT after a hard rain. Radio worked at odd times, overdrive light flashed on and off, 4x4 lights lit up at odd times, clicking noises, etc. Things settled down after it dried out after a day or so. I haven't had a similiar problem in the last 6 months, although that may be because it is now parked in the garage.
