Recently I had my automatic transmission rebuild on my pick up(F150 4x4 v8 5.0L), but now when I'm driving around 45 Mph and take my foot out the gas pedal it clunks. I took the car back to repair shop and the manager took the car for a test drive and said that particular transmission did that since was new and there was nothing he could do to correct the problem. He told me to drive in D instead of OD when I drive in town, but whenever I drive on highway in OD and get in to trafic its gonna keep clunking.
Transmission type on shop invoice- AOD/AOD-E/FIOD/4R70W/AODE-W
Transmission type on truck door sticker- T
Please answer.

I would tend to disagree with that guy who said it came from the factory like that, i highly doubt it. you might look on the web for someother people who have had a similar problem. i think the guy is a little shady who told you that. unfortunately i only have an AODE and a C4 and have never had that problem. you may find enough evidence on the web to go back to the manager and have him re-rebuild it, with the parts to do it right. maybe try another tranny shop, these guys don't sound like they konw what they're talking about. hope this helps,

I tend to agree about somebody being shady or goofed in his work. Did it act like that befor? Any body check for inplay or slack in drive line. You know he had drive shaft out, were "UJOINTS" replaced? One or both? Was shaft marked befor removing so it could be realigned in former rotational position on yoke. All these things can be part of problem, or else he goofed inside tran. caddy 53 chuck
