Is this an example of bad shift levers?
I am having shift problems. I have a 1975 F100 with a Mr. Gasket Daytona shift conversion kit. QUite often, when I put the truck in gear, the gearshift will put it in R 1, 2, or 3 but then the shift arm will go waaaaaaay past the gear and then I won't be able to get it out of gear. I have done some research and come to the conclusion that the shift levers attached to the gearshift arm are worn out. I have a web page with a bunch of pictures I took of the gearshift assembly:

My question is, do you think I diagnosed this correctly? I am going to buy a new Daytona universal shifter, take the old shift arm out, replace the levers with the ones from the new shifter, and put it back in. The rest of the linkage looks fine...Actually, I think I may have some extra shift levers left over from the original install. Oh well I can't put it on today anyways (it's raining here)
Oh yeah, from these pics do you think I have a tranny leak as well? lol. I'm not a super mechanic, this is the most in depth mechanical work I have tried so far with any of my cars, but I'm learning
