looking for info on the proper setup for a 4-bar rear!

I have just got some new parts to me!!! I think it was a great score. Its a complete 4 bar setup with air bags. It looks like there is every thing there needed to install this. But the most important thing is missing DIRECTIONS!!!
Could someone help me out with what to do. I feel i understand how the kit goes. This will be going on my 55 f1. Thanks

i've did a few...
is it a triangulated 4 link?
a 4 bar ladder bar setup?
or 4 bar ladder with panhard bar?
do the bars have adjustable ends on each side? or just one side?
are the bag brackets on the bars, or are there seperate brackets that go on axle?
sorry for all the questions, but they all setup a little different.
oh, and FYI, most 4 link kits dont come with instructions, just a parts list to make sure you got everything.(atleast the ones i've done) theres lots of tech articles on the net, if your not sure what you have post a pic of all the parts, and i'll send you in the right direction.

ok, so i take it your needing instructions for this kit?

and whats your email, i have pdf's of the instructions, i cant post them here.
depending on what kit you have,(different companys have different brackets) you may be able to change it to a triangulated 4 link, with no panhard bar(thats my fav) you might have to modify the brackets tho.
the triangulated looks like this

just imagine the springs are your bags oh i just noticed its goin on a 55. i've got a picture/instructions on your exact truck. heres one of the pics..

i've always did mine on the ground.
the ride hight is just the hight you ride, nothing more. what you need to be concerned about it making sure you set your pinion angle correct.
when ever you start welding in the bars make sure the axle is in the right position, measure from a spot on your frame that is consistant with the other side, from the driverside frame, to the pass side axle, kinda like a X, those two measurements should be the same, depending on were you measured from atleast. measure every angle you can, to make sure you axle is centered(left right up and down) this will make sure the tires are centered in the fenderwell.
go ahead and let the axle sit on the ground and your frame sitting about where it would when driving, if you have a bottle neck jack, or anything small, set it under the nose of the hogs head to get your pinion agle eyed in.( do you have anything to find your pinion angle? something like this will work

or go to sears or any tool store.
if you dont have one, you said you have adjustable bars, so you can adjust it later, just as long as you get it pretty close.
but there is one important thing.... are you installing bags right now?
and did they come with brackets? your going to have to put something there after the 4 link is installed, or your frame will just rest on your axle(no suspension)

oh, and when you start on the bags, make sure the truck is all the way down before measuring for bag brackets, the bag needs to be fully deflated, if not you will lose lift. if you just start welding in brackets and the bag doesnt fully depress when you lower the truck, it wont lift as high when inflated. did i repeat my self? lol

anyway, do you have everything for you bags? valves, air line, tank, compressor, and all the other little things you'll need....
i've got different plumbing diagrams for running different setups, let me know if you need those.

we can get into the bags when you get your 4 link setup if you want.
i have lots and lots of bag diagrams, have you installed bags before?
if not...
how many valves do you have? a normal front back kit has 4 valves(2 dumps, 2 fills, there the same valve tho) a FBSS kit has 8 vavles.
are the bags duel port or single? make sure you have enuf fittings, and airline.
one good thing is that if you start your airline plumbing and dont have enuf you can go to a big truck shop, and they carry most everything you need for air ride kits, like 1/4" line to run to your air gauges(kits dont come with enuf, i've installed many many bag kits, and not a one has come with enuf line. even some of the bigger ones have a big selections of valves(parker and smc are the ones i stick with)
ok, couple more questions...(just me being curious)
what gal tank do you have, and how many ports.
and what kind of compressor do you have?(do you know its duty cycle? if not its ok)
if you dont have a water trap, you can go to sears(or any tool place) and get a water trap, make sure it is at least 250psi stable!! but that can depend on if your going to run a pressure switch or not, and the kind of compressor.
if you dont know what a pressure switch is, it hooks inline with the power to the compressor and screws into your tank, it cuts the power to the compressor when the tank hits a certain psi. you can spend a little bit more money and buy and adjustable pressure switch(i recommend that) so you have more control over how much pressure you keep constant in your tank.
most of the time i also run a master switch to the compressor, just incase the truck sits for a while and looses air, i can just turn off the compressor so it dont kick on in the middle of the night.
also use teflon tape on all the fittings, dont use locktite because more than likely you may have to remove the fittings to replcace over time.
if you want the airline to look a little more professional, you can purchase 1/2 inch copper pipe, and route your airline using it(instead of the standard DOT black)
ok, i think i'm rambling lol, i can talk about this all day i'll get into it in more detail when you get to that point. or if your major confused u can call, and i'll talk you thru it, its like surgery lol.

if your not sure what you have, just post some pics of everything.

Do the 4 bar have to be level with the ground? If i was to weld the front bracket to the side of the frame, the bars would go downward to the axle? I have looked al over but cant find this info. Does it even matter if they where up hill or down or even level? Thanks!!!!!!!

it doesnt matter, just so long as they are not wayyyyy off. if you think about it... when you put air in your bags there going to go that direction anyway. make sure they are parallel to each other.
