I've had both. First the stick on ('97 F-150), then the in channel (my '06 F-150). I prefer the in channel. They don't stick out from the truck like the stick on style and you can take them out whenever you want. I think the brand I have is EGR.

I have the in channel style as well. They have more of a custom look to them and don't stick out as far. I have the Putco Chrome style.

vote for the AVS stick-ons

been there almost 3 yrs now. had to remove them and re-glue about 3 months back though. The 100% sunlight out here in Hawaii killed the glue stickyness.

they were really nice in Washington in all the rain though

I have the OEM stick on. It has been on my 07 XLT Scab for over 2 years with no problems. They work well in the rain and in the sun. I can't comment the in channel ones as I have never use them before.

I had the stick on, and they just didn't look right, so I took them off. Because of the angle of the door, they have too much of an angle (like 230 degrees on the drivers side if you put a protractor on them) I'd rather have something with a little less angle; something that followed the contour of the door. I don't know who the manufacturer was, but mine didn't look right to me. I'd rather have the in-channel ones though if I got them again.

I had the Stick-ons on my previous truck ( Dodge ), they worked just fine and stayed stuck for many years. But eventually needed new tape...

Have the in-channel vents now (some German made products) and LOVE them! They look 10X better than the stick-ons but cost a bit more... This German made product had the in channel edges machined thinner as to not effect the operation of the windowa...

I have the in-channel ones. I ordered them from Cabelas but I think they are WeatherTechs. I love them. They look very sleek and adds a nice little touch to the truck. I think in-channels look better than stick-ons and you don't have to worry about tape baked on your paint.

i had the stick on ones when i had my 04 screw, they started to come un-glued after 2 years, when i got my new 08, i got the weather tech in channel ones. i haven't been more happier! i like them so much, got a set for my wifes 07 edge, low profile and easy to install, and their dark smoke color so they match my truck. would recommend them to anybody.

I have the AVS stick on ones on my F150. Our Explorer also has the AVS stick on ones. We have had the Explorer for a little over two years and one is just statrting to become unglued. The previous owners put them on, so I don't know how long they have been there.

Now on my F150, I bought the stick on ones because they were waaaay cheaper than the inchannel ones where my wife works (auto parts store). Plus I got her discount so it was like $25 for the set (2 front and 2 for the SC).

Eventually I would like to have the in-channel ones. They do look sleeker than the stick on ones and they don't leave that nasty adhesive residue. But, the stick on ones do work pretty well and I am happy with them...

I've had stick-ons on my 93, and put them on my 04. No problems except they don't like hailstones!
