I had the in channel on my F250 and loved them. They were the EGR brand. I were low profile and I loved them. I then tried the stick ons on my F350 and the first set came loose in less than 5 months in the Houston sun. I changed them out (under warranty) but traded the truck shortly after. I am looking at getting a set of the in channels for my F150 now. My .02 is to get the in channel. I really liked the fit much better.

i have the weathertech in-channel. they look good . the down side is that the glass will slide against them and scratch the glass. you have to keep the glass and channel clean. how do you guys keep all of this from scratching the glass?

Have the channels on my 05 and they look like they belong. havent had to touch them in 2 yrs since they went on. Have the glue ons on the Jeep, and they're always coming loose, also dont look as custom.

they scratch on the outside. one thing i did that seems to help is that i added a strip of 3m tape on the outside edge of the weathertechs similar to the way that they rear window deflectors are installed

Yeah, I'm having the scratching problem. Makes an awful noise each time the windows go up and they never fully close.

I agree that the in channel look better, i had them on my 05 f250. I had to take one off to have the window re-tinted and when you take the deflector off you will end up with wind noise. The window will never seal right. When they are on it is fine. Keep in mind. My 2 cents.

I'll tell ya one thing. Those EGR deflectors are really nice. Sure they scratch the window and make a noise when you roll it up or down, but they extend all the way down to the door sill. As a result, they block more rain, more wind, and those annoying tiny pit rock pieces that come off of dump trucks on the highway. Sick of getting hit with those.

I have the WheatherTech in channel and they are a great product. I have had them on 2 trucks and would not go with another product. They are a little difficult to put on the fron doors but it is worth it. Thoguht i was going to break them on the install with all the bending but all went well.

It really boils down to what you are willing to put up with.

In channel - looks sleek, performs well and on the other hand they may scratch the outside of the window (the channel is designed for the window only and you are adding something there)

tape on - no scratching, looks good too however the tape may or may not let go

to be honest i have seen debris get in the window channels and scratch the glass on windows with no in-channels or stick-on deflectors

give and take
