In-Channel or Glue on wind deflectors?
#16
I had the in channel on my F250 and loved them. They were the EGR brand. I were low profile and I loved them. I then tried the stick ons on my F350 and the first set came loose in less than 5 months in the Houston sun. I changed them out (under warranty) but traded the truck shortly after. I am looking at getting a set of the in channels for my F150 now. My .02 is to get the in channel. I really liked the fit much better.

I'll tell ya one thing. Those EGR deflectors are really nice. Sure they scratch the window and make a noise when you roll it up or down, but they extend all the way down to the door sill. As a result, they block more rain, more wind, and those annoying tiny pit rock pieces that come off of dump trucks on the highway. Sick of getting hit with those.

I have the WheatherTech in channel and they are a great product. I have had them on 2 trucks and would not go with another product. They are a little difficult to put on the fron doors but it is worth it. Thoguht i was going to break them on the install with all the bending but all went well.

It really boils down to what you are willing to put up with.
In channel - looks sleek, performs well and on the other hand they may scratch the outside of the window (the channel is designed for the window only and you are adding something there)
tape on - no scratching, looks good too however the tape may or may not let go
to be honest i have seen debris get in the window channels and scratch the glass on windows with no in-channels or stick-on deflectors
give and take
