c6 trans. 89 e350
Is there a after factory overdrive that I could buy for my 1989 E350
460.cid. C6 transmission ? If so where ? Could I buy this unit and
put it in my self ? I live in Ottawa Canada . Is there a place I could buy this OD trans. locally .

Go to www.gearvendors.com
The website should give a listing for dealers...if not I'd call Gearvendors direct and they will be able to tell you who would be the closest vendor. Expect to pay around $2600-$3000. american for the complete job. There is no cheaper solution I can think off to get you overdrive. You could install a late model Ford E4OD but they are not as bullet-proof as your C-6 and are very expensive to fix when they fail. Even going that route will cost you over $2000 as late model used E4OD's run over $1000. then you need a controller to run it (over $400 from www.baumannengineering.com) and have your driveline shortened and rebalanced ($100-$150), all that plus labor.
When your all said and done figure on driving 60,000-100,000 miles to break even for the differance in gas mileage you'll save. Deen
