Output shafts 69 to 88 C6

I have a 88 f150 4x4 that needs a engine and tranny. I have a 69 f250 2wheel drive with a 390 and a C6 that i would Like to use. My question is it possible to change the output shafts so I can mount the 2whl tranny to my transfer case. The 69 output shaft just slid out while the 88 seams to be held in somehow.
