I usually hang out in the slick forum but I'm thinking about buying this truck, can you tell me exactly what year it is and if parts are available. It is a ton and a half, the bed is just sitting on it and does not go with it, it's missing the gas tank and the seat, that's about as far as I got, I'm going to look later when I have time. Thanks
Yes you can find parts for that truck. The bed definatly does not go with that truck. More than likely it had either a dump bed or flat bed at one time in its life. The difference between 3/4 and up vs 1/2 ton is the bed is different, the front & rear fenders had bigger wheel openings, bigger frames and different running boards. I have a 1 ton I am going to be redoing sometime, and my 2 biggest parts I need is the running boards and bed parts. My bed is mostly fixable, but it will take alot of time and fabrication.
The embossed Ford in the hood kinda narrows it down to 45-47, not all but most 42-44's used a cast emblem and the military trucks were bare, or all the ones I've sen so far.

21C-16612-B .. Hood / Fits: 1942/47 all trucks except COE's.
Hood part number source: 1928/47 Ford Truck-1928/48 Ford Car Parts Catalog.
I'll post some pictures when I get home, I have hoods that are embossed with the Ford script, some that are not, a military hood woth no script and no way to bolt on the whiskers on each side of the latch and Mercury hoods which only accept the latch with different whiskers, but they will all bolt on any truck cab (except COE) from 1940 to 1947. Not being a know it all because I surely don't, but most likely there were changes made post war.

These hoods will fit all the 42-47 trucks except COE's but only the one hood is embossed and the black hood off the '42 had a cast Ford emblem where the 2 holes are , , doesn't the -B suffix indicate a change to the original part?
