way to tell rear end ratio
Hey, I have a problem with my Dad's pickup. 90 F250 4x4 with 460 and 5spd manual trans. His speedo isn't working anymore so I need to replace those gears. The problem is I'm not sure what the rear end ratio is. The factory drilled a hole right through the numbers on the tag on the rear so I can't read it. I think it is a 4.10, but not sure. I tried the VIN decoder, but it doesn't show(also shows the truck has a 351 which it never did). Does anybody have an idea to figure this out short of counting gears or spinning the wheel and counting driveshaft rotation?
