Well did a 4 1/2 hr trip yesterday afternoon. Towing around 5500lbs with the edge and my mods. Temp on the trans ran about 144 the whole time motor temp ran around 192 most of the time and MPG was around 11.1-11.6 Now this is through the mountains on upstate NY. Was towing my 17 ft car trailer with our to big cats on it and another trailer on it. I was on level 2 the whole time.
Thought i would tell you guys. Temps outside were between 22-30 the whole trip.

I've towed my 25' travel trailer with my dressed BMW bike in the bed for many thousands of miles and the mileage is always between 11 and 12 (usually closer to 11) and I live in the mountains. The weight is between 4,500 and 5,000 pounds. Never a problem towing without overdrive.
Could you tell a difference with the Edge? I really want one bad! I'm sure it would help in the towing department, as well as monitoring the trans temps...

I can tell a difference between stock and the Edge when towing. A HUGE difference. I put it back to stock once mid-way through a trip towing a car from Colorado Springs to here, and after about a mile, I put it back to level II. When I'm not towing, I run level III
Well I just got back from a 250 mile tow. Had a 16ft cam superliner flat bed with a 2005 F-350 dual wheel 4x4 6.0 diesel on the trailer. Trailer is around 1,500 and truck is around 8,000. Had my edge on tow tune and managed to get around 10.0mpg. Have a pic of me dropping his truck off at the dealership in my gallery. I cant seem to move the pic from there to a posting. It was around 20F out tranny temp never went over 170 on the hills. I had to tow it back for him because he is going broke paying for the constant tows on this truck!!!!
Thanks Tylus !!!! It was actually very tongue heavy. I had to increase tire pressure to 50psi to keep the rear end from swaying. As you can see I was unable to move the truck back anymore. I would have put it on back wards but the dual wheels would not get by the fenders. Plus it did not run so i had to use a com-along to pull it on.
yeah, I saw that the DRW prevented loading it ideally. how far did you rear wheels pick off the ground when you unloaded it?
I towed a little Jetta a few years back. My wife had to sit in the truck and hold the brakes so the truck didn't roll while we loaded the car on the trailer. That damn little Jetta picked the entire rear end of my truck off the ground about 1/2 a foot

I think because the truck was so long and the trailer is low to the ground it never lifted the truck up. It came off a lot easier than it went on !!
Well, that may have answered a coulple questions I had about towing my TT. If you guys get a chance, I posted a thread in the towing section, and would like to hear some replies from some of you. thanks

The edge is worth the money i'm happy with it and with the bolt on mods i did to my truck and turning 35 inch tires ford did there homework on these trucks....
And that F150 towing that 350 is a beautiful picture.
I don't track mileage while towing because I don't want to cry. The Edge definitely helps with the shifting points though. I tried it stock and MAYBE went 2 miles before switching it back.
Coming home last night was worse. MPG's were down was driving into a pretty good wind... Had to fill up 25 miles from home.... Avg..Was about 9.6 coming home.. What are you going to do....
