I bought the AutoEnginuity software with the Enhanced Ford module. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on using it? I hooked it up and ran through a few things. I couldn't find an EGT sensor anywhere, is there one? Not that I'd rely on it over a gauge, it'd just be a nice thing to have. What sensors and monitoring do you guys find useful before and after mods and just for monitoring general engine health?
Congrats on your new toy. You won't find an EGT reading since there is no sensor from the factory to take this reading from. You can monitor boost through a MAP reading, but tranny temp is another item you really need an aftermarket sending unit for. Here's a link with a few tips on things to look at Roadside Help Network - Guides, Maintenance & Mods. ITP diesel also has some write ups on how to use the AE.
How much have you played with it? Play around with the different readings on the Live Data tab. Watching rotational velocity (or change in rotational velocity %) is a neat little reading. Also monitoring ICP psi and IPR duty % (ICP %) is something to watch.
You can also do the injector buzz test (engine off) and cylinder contribution test (CCT) (engine running and warmed up) on the test on board systems tab. Really too many options to list with such a broad question. It would be easier to ask a "How do I do this" type of question for more specific advice.
