CNN Bashes the Excursion..... Idiots

CNN decided to use a picture of a 2002 Excursion to represent what it calls older inefficient vehicles???
yeah show me another vehicle that can carry 8 people comfortably, tow an 11,000 trailer and still get double digit MPG's
They are totally missing the fact that the X gets the same or better MPG's than many vehicles half its size!!!

Congress considers auto sales incentives - Jan. 29, 2009

and since when is a 2002 model an OLD car

Amen DJ... my X is strictly owned for purpose, I have a family of 6 and I need to tow a toy hauler, there simply is no other vehicle that can get the job done. I expect most everyone on this forum would agree.

Here's to global warming! CNN Loves that topic!

Most of the time, I am the only person in my truck. That may change soon, but I wont be concerned if it doesnt.

I do 200 mile trips on I94 covered in ice and snow in my Explorer. I do it with the hubs unlocked the great majority of the time though.

Sorry I just had to point something out.

"With auto sales at crisis levels, Washington is trying to figure out how to get Americans buying cars again."

Maybe lower gas prices might help just a little...

That was actually one of the options I considered when looking at Excursions.

Big drawback was the extra cost, and then the fact that I would have far more capacity than I actually need.

In that equation, the Excursion was the far more moderate choice...

Yeah...they cost a bundle! There's a number of them here on the island. Most are used to take the tourists up Mauna Kea and other adventure tours.

HaHa I knew someone was gonna say that... ok, not available from OEM and to find one at all, never mind for a reasonable price is near impossible... esp with a 7.3 Diesel... I like the sportmobile conversions too... another way to find a 4x4 van is to look for a use ambulance in snowy regions... often show up at auctions

As for CNN, I actually prefer BBC world news website... but at least its not as bad as FOX or MSNBC
