it is time to retire our 1997 Expedition as she has about 167,000 miles plus a good amount of body damage through a run in with a jack-knifed trailer and a hit-n-run driver (so passenger side and rear door pretty rough). She also needs a new air conditioning compressor, upper and lower ball joints, plus front and rear O2 sensors.
The engine, transmission and main components are all original and without any issues. The alternator was replaced perhaps 2-3 years ago and she has new Brigestone ATs.
I am struggling to decide if I should sell this as a whole or simply part it out and I was curious to see what others have done. Parts like the engine, transmission, rear, tires, alternator, power stearing pump, power mirrors, and all those small parts are surely worth more then the truck as a whole and hey it might be a good opportunity to learn how to work on my 2000.
I also have a way to dispose of the left over carcus as my brother has been in the scap metal business so he will take anything left over.
Well a 97 Expy is worth about 4-5K in excellent condition,so i would say part it out on ebay and you might come up with at least half of that.Sell it down to the frame.Good Luck
