swapped from 265's to 245's
i finally had time to swap my tires. i yanked off the stock conti's and mounted the michelin ltx 245/65/17's that i had. The truck runs great. seems to handle better. the tires i put on are load range E. so the are considerably stiffer. the ride is firmer, i have them inflated to 45psi, the side wall says max 80. If i hook the big trailer on I may add air. but being it is the wifey's ride she may not like the teeth rattleing ride it would give.

If your original tires were 265/75R17 then your speedometer is going to be off by about 7%.
Line 1 is stock tire and line 2 is new tire.

i thought the originals were 265/70/17's. i now have 245/70/17's.
the tire calc i used says it was off by 3%. i have no plans on long distance travel in the truck. i doesn't get driven much actually. it will to the boat to the loacl watering holes and back and some demo cars in the summer.
