Knocking or Bumpy noise from front suspension - 97 EB Expy
While driving, I started to hear / feel this knocking / bumping sound coming from somewhere in the front suspension. It gets louder at lower speeds (less than 30 mph) but I can barely hear or feel it at 60mph. The knocking also stops when I make turns but starts again when I am driving straight. Seems like it has got louder after a 15 miles journey too.
Hmmm - I thought a bad axle would do that while turning also? It does not knock while turning...wierd.
Just the opposite. While turning, you are putting more of a load on the CV joint causing any slack within the joint to be taken up. The joints are at their loosest when they are straight.
Well I just checked everything under the front suspension and everything appears to be in good condition. Nothing looked broken. As for the axles, both "appeared" to be normal...
I took it out for a drive and the noise was gone for about 1 minute and then it came back for good. I am no expert at suspension stuff - any ideas what else I should do or check? Thanks!
Probably wouldn't hurt to have the alignment checked. A good trustworthy place should be able to find whats loose.
Doesn't hurt to just crawl around the engine compartment and underneath grabbing stuff looking for a loose part. Good luck

Yeah I did that as mentioned in the previous post. I even lubed up some of the joints, etc. - still no go . I am just gonna take it in tomorrow and get a "diagnosis" as they say...
