I'm currently updating my 46 Ford 1/2 ton truck and would like to add turn signals for safety. I haven't been able to locate a unit. Any recommendations of where to locate a good unit would be appreciated. phil.
Macs sells a kit to change where your parking lights are to park and turn. And they also sell kits to mount the lever or **** to either your shifter or your steering column.
If you look at their cat for 32-48 Passenger, 39-48 Mercury and 32-47 Pickup; look on pages 114 and 115. Sub heading Turn signal Conversion Kit & Wire and also Turn Signal Kits & Parts
As a tip to keep it a bit cheaper. I went to my local Pep Boys and picked up a light socket for a dual filament bulb, like an 1157, and replaced the stock socket in my parking lights with the new one, and it's a direct fit. Cheaper than buying new housings and all if you don't need them.
I saw the 2 ads in Mac's. Didn't think I would like the more expensive one that goes on the shifter. Wasn't sure about the second one. I just wanted one that would attach to the steering column and add a level of safety to the truck. I'll go back and recheck the ones at Mac's...have had good luck with them in the past and will also check out what's on c and g. Thanks for the help. phil.
I just thought of a different one today. They have universal turn signal switches for big trucks. (Mack, Peterbuilt, Freightliner, Sterling, L series Fords, etc) You will probably have to go to some big truck supply shop or garage to find them.
