I don't want anything
Many people have come to FTE and it seemed that making someone really cool out of yourself was necessary.
My Labrador dog loves me to tears. That's good enough for me.
HE KNOWS ME, YOU DON'T!
He's him, and I'm myself. We're good.
YOU BE YOU (UBU)
That's all you're ever going to be anyway...
It's all I ever will either

Ya know, Dutch. . . .
You are exactly right.
My English Springer Spaniel loves me, unconditionally.
I don't know of anything or anyone else that is like that. . . including my wonderful wife and kids.
As for what others, here, think about me. . . well. . . I don't give a hoot what others think about me. Never have.
Sure, I have friends here, but, I certainly don't think that any of 'em want to get next to me after I've worked in the yard all day.
(My dog will!)
Life is too short. Get a dog. Be loved, unconditionally!
I always say my horse is my rock. He never judges me. He never says you look this way or that. He is always there when I need a shoulder to cry on. I can be going through something very difficult and he will be extra cautios, more attentive and totally in my space it is his way of saying I know you are going through something and I am here to help.
He doesnt ask for anything but to be fed and watered and loved. Everything else is just "fluff" to him. When people ask me who knows you best? I can say my horse. I have had him for 12 plus years now and he has been a constant. He will take his last breath oin my arms or I prayerfully will take my last watching him graze in the pasture.

If coming into a Open forum and pretending to be anything more or less than what you really are makes you feel better about yourself, by all means "What ever blows your hair back ".
You can be anybody you wish to be on the Internet, but you only fool yourself most times, because if your anything like me, I really don't care who you are, it really doesn't mean that much to me to care !
Only people I need to prove anything to are:
1. My Kids and my wife
2. My customers
3. My business partner
The rest are irrelevant.

If you really think about it, "BEING COOL" is a great way to ensure you get ROBBED!!!!
Some things are still green, but brown leaves are everywhere. the land is preparing for winter. Squirrels are gone. I know they are in the nests they have made in trees.
In southern california they live in holes in the ground (THUS: Ground Squirrels) but here they don't jump from tree to tree anymore. The nut harvest is over.
Also - the mosquitos have died. The next generation hibernates in the ponds and waterholes all around.
Fish in the streams and lakes will likely eat just about anything they can get right now... The bugs and such they lived on are all holed up for the winter. But they'll be in deep water, because that is the only defence against cold in the wild.
While the hardwoods are mostly barren now - they shed their leaves and hibernate too - the evergreens such as pine and juniper are still green. So the forrest is a mix of bare stems and branches with green scattered amongst it.
Deer are beginning to forage ever further for the green stuffs that they live on. Low hanging branches are chewed by them, and they move on to find more. Sometimes one will stand on another to reach a higher branch....
Some think of them as cattle of the woods, others as rodents in their trees, and still others think of them all as "BAMBI"
I know them in two ways.
DANGEROUS! Because they can mess unwary people up badly and quickly.
But at least once - I have pulled branches down for young deer to feed (yearlings). That was in a regional park in Wheaton Maryland. Sometimes I hear shots by hunters off in the distance. There was a doe hanging from a tree down the road a few weeks ago, but it wasn't doe season.....
It SMELLS cold. Not snow today, but maybe in a few weeks. January or february, I expect. The sky has looked like it a few times, but the temperature was all wrong....
In Memphis Tennessee there is snow on the ground for about four days, once a year. -Pick your time!
