One of my buddies used to have an OBS and he put on a 1.00 housing. But he went to the dark side and bought a dodge and so he gave me is old housing but he couldnt remember if it was the 1.15 or the 1.00 housing. How can i tell which one it is?
Ah ok well that was easier than i expected, Thanks Tim and Neal
So i just went and checked it and it a 1.15, but it sat in the back of my truck for a few days and it rained. So now it has a bunch or surface rust on it. Is it safe to sand blast it, and if so should i stay away from certain areas? And do you think that powder coating would stand up on that, cuz i can get it sprayed for free as long as i prep it.
I am not sure what the temp the actual housing gets......I know pwder coating hold up well, but at what temps they can see I could not tell you........I had the exhaust on my quad jet-hot coated and it looks great(like brushed aluminum)
are you planning on usin the new housing? Mine is cracked clean through and i'm lookin for another. let me know if your interested. pm if you are. thanks
great pics Tim....are you running that or is it on the shelf(for sale?)
I used to run it but took it off and sold it. Then used that money to get my HX50 which will now be sold to pay for my H2E......

Blasting it will be fine. Blow it out well before using but it will be fine. Just lightly blast the mating surface of the inlet flange and the mounting flange for the center section just to keep it all flat. The rest you can blast away.
I sprayed mine with 1200° paint from wally world and it has held up ok. Powder coat won't stay on. It will burn off I am sure.
