Hi. I will be upgrading my truck to a 6" lift (currently has a 3" body lift) and will be putting 35" tires on it. Currently has 30.5" and it doesn't like getting them rolling from a dead stop. I believe I have 2.73 gears in the rear end. With my Mazda five speed (yes, 2WD) what should I have swapped in? I'm thinking 4.11's? I would love feedback on what you think I should put in.
Mild off roading (2WD, remember), daily driver, some highway.

Also, in the North East Ohio area...does anyone know of a shop that can do this work?
I would go with 4.11's since its a daily driver, but it also depends on the motor your running or plan on running in the future. 4.11's and 35's put my rpm's back to where they were with stock tires and 3.50's. If you have overdrive or a weak V6, you could think about 4.56, but it might hurt mileage then. As far as where to get them done, just make sure somebody does them that really knows what they are doing, even if you have to drive an hour or two away, its worth it. There is a lot of stuff that can go wrong if they are not set up properly. Also, I would get a locker or limited slip while you're at it since you only have 2wd. Hope this helps a little.

Swapping gears is more than just disassembling, putting in new, and reassembling, eh? Is there a lot of stuff that can go wrong? I mean I am a pretty competent mechanic, I've just never done gears before.
Well, they say if you have to ask about how to swap gears, to have it done professionaly. It's expensive but if everything isn't exact, at the least they will be noisy and wear out really fast. With the 300 and overdrive, I would go with 4.56. Then if you want in the future, you could get away with bigger tires than 35's. With 4.56 and 35's you could even beat most people off the line. But to answer your question, there is a lot more to it then just disassembling and putting in new ring and pinion. As far as the ARB, that would be the ultimate set-up. Go with that if you can afford it (they aren't cheap). I have a Detroit locker in my 9" rear, it kicks ##### off -road and I don't even notice it on road. Definately worth every penny since they're proven to be indestructible.
i agree, i actually drove an hour yesterday tto get mine done, i live here around atlanta, and i had a hard time even finding anyone, but i found a good one and talked to some people who have had his work done, cost me 1100 for new 410 gears for front 44, rear dana 60, all new seals and bearing too, that also includes labor, will be done tomorrow, i cant wait
sounds like a smokin deal to me. I don't think you would be saving much money by installing it yourself. I have heard people paying that much for just the lift.
