Good morning fellas, Just messing around with the 240 in my '66. I've got a bad skip upon acceleration. You can tell it's an electrical/ignition skip. Got to checking my points gap, timing etc. Took the advance line off the dizzy, and with the truck idling, I pulled a vacuum on the advance, and can exactly duplicate my skip that I'm getting on takeoff. If I hook my vacuum gauge up to the advance line from the carb, just after cracking the throttle, I'm getting 5" vacuum. That's exactly the same vacuum that it takes for my dizzy to advance completely. I don't see an adjustment screw in the vacuum port like some have. What is another way to up my required vacuum, so that it comes on later? Can I change the springs in the dizzy? We used to do that when I built Harley engines, but I don't know if they're available for these. Any info would be greatly apreciated. Thanks guys.....Brian

The springs were available once, but to look 'em up, get the Ford & Motorcraft part numbers and to locate them (if possible)...I need the dizzy ID number off of yours.
I can look up the springs without the dizzy number, but there's more than one type.
The ID number is stamped on the body just below where the cap rests and resembles this: C6TF-12127-A.
Thanks again Bill. You add so much to this forum, and it's definitely appreciated from guys like myself. I will call them tomorrow and get some coming. Thanks, Brian.
