Battery light
I have a '98 Windstar with a 3.8L engine. Recently, my battery light started coming on intermittently when the engine is cold. When it is on, I rev the engine and the light goes out until the engine settles. Then it come back on. It also goes out and stays off after the engine warms up. Battery is fully serviced, with "Green" in the idiot hole. Terminals have been cleaned and wiring looks good. I thought of the voltage regulator, but before I spend 265.00 for one, I wanted to see if anyone has seen this happen.

Battery light
Check the belt on the alternator. If it's loose, the alt won't produce enough power during idle so light comes on. When you rev it you get enough power to turn the light out. If the belts good, you can always take the Alt off and take it to autozone or pep boys and have it checked for free.
