I pulled my back tank to clean and check it, and thought I'd run something by y'all that I haven't seen in my search for tank cleaning methods.
The tank doesn't seem to be rusted at all on the inside. Just black/brownish gunk. So I'm thinking about trying a little gas mixed with seafoam soak followed by power wash with water and then let it sit in the Texas sun a while. Has anyone tried the seafoam like this, or have an opinion? I know it worked great to clean out my vacuum system.
Thanks
As a precaution, I would run your vehicle for about 400-500 miles, then change the fuel filter. This way, you'll remove any tiny, minute contaminants / dirt / particles from your tank cleaning. You never know what may be slightly upstream from the tank, inside your fuel line.
Good luck, Sea Foam is a very good product. Chevron with Techron Injector Cleaner, and Berryman's B-10 cleaners are also very good products.
