Mine stops, or at least postpones quite a bit if I press in on the red seatbelt release button...

I know there is a more complex way to disable (permanently?) in the owner's manual too, but I don't have mine handy...

Sorry...not meaning to be a smart*ss before....

Buddy did something under his dash on his F250...but he then had other problems...

There's a couple pages on how to do this in my X Manual - I just scanned them into a PDF but can't figure out how to post it...give me an email address or fax # if you want and I will send over...

1. Set Parking Brake & put truck in Park.

2. Turn key to ON but do not start. Wait for the seat belt light to go off.
(NOTE: This could take 30+ seconds before the light goes off. Be patient.)

3. You have 60 seconds to complete the next task.

4. Buckle and unbuckle the seat belt 3 times ending with the belt UNbuckled.

5. Turn on the headlight and then turn them off.

6. Buckle and unbuckle the seat belt 3 more times ending with it UNbuckled.

7. Watch the dash as the seat belt light will illuminate.

8. Within 7 seconds of the light going out, buckle then unbuckle the seat belt.

You're done!

Yep - that's what I do... just press the red 'unbuckle' button and that silences it. I never sat for 45 minutes to see if it comes back on.

ditto to the above cut-n-pasted from my owners manual

Deactivating/activating the belt minder feature
Read steps 1 - 9 thoroughly before proceeding with the
deactivation/activation programming procedure.
The Belt Minder feature can be deactivated/activated by performing the
following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that:
• the parking brake is set
• the gearshift is in P (Park) (automatic transmission).
• the ignition switch is in the OFF position
• all vehicle doors are closed
• the driver’s safety belt is unbuckled
• the parklamps/headlamps are in OFF position (If vehicle is equipped
with Autolamps, this will not affect the procedure.)
To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the Belt
Minder feature while driving the vehicle.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT
START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1–2
minutes)
• Steps 3–5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure will
have to be repeated.
3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the
safety belt unbuckled. This can be done before or during Belt Minder
warning activation.
4. Turn on the parklamps/headlamps, turn off the parklamps/headlamps.
Seating and safety restraints
93
5. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the
safety belt unbuckled.
• After step 5 the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three
seconds.
6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning light turning off,
buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable Belt Minder if it is currently enabled, or enable Belt
Minder if it is currently disabled.
7. Confirmation of disabling Belt Minder is provided by flashing the
safety belt warning light four times per second for three seconds.
8. Confirmation of enabling Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety
belt warning light four times per second for three seconds, followed by
three seconds with the safety belt warning light off, then followed by
flashing the safety belt warning light four times per second for three
seconds again.
9. After receiving confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is
complete.

No worries! I suppose I have a track record of posts where the reader isn't sure if it's serious or not.
