Ahh, dumb question (washer fliud)

I bought my X in august and it didnt have an owners manual. I plan on getting one soon and mechanic books too. My question is: is there a seperate tank for the rear window washer fluid? Or should I assume my pump is broke? Front windshield washer fluid squirts ok. but not the back. I've looked for a tank in the rear and i can hear the pump.

Our 2002 does not have a rear tank but we have had trouble with the hose that goes to the back. It runs along the passengers side, under the rig.

Auburn, just wanted to say there is no such thing as a stupid question on this forum. We all learn from each other.

no rear tank.

First of all, I'm assuming that the tank (only one) has juice in it because the front squirters work. To isolate the issue, Leave the rear squirter on for a second or two and see if there are any leaks (check especially under the passenger door and look for drips in the interior where the rear hatch meets the roof area)

•If it leaks underneath the passenger door: pull back the carpet at the top right corner of the passenger foot compartment. There will be a big black fitting and probably a hose that is disconnected. Reconnect these two (thats the washer line) and you should be in business)

•If it leaks at the rear: Pull down the piece of plastic on the roof just inside of the rear hatch that fits where the headliner ends. Then pull down the headliner a bit and you'll see the same black line from the passenger footbox and reconnect the connector.

Those are the two most likely culprits, but it might be the pump too.

Hope that helps!
