04 Expedition 2wd averaging 13 mpg's between city/highway
I know this has been talked about endlessly but im a little concerned. My 04 only has a shade over 32K. In city driving i have seen the computer dip down to low 12's and on highway the best I have seen is 13.3 I just checked my tire pressure and its 38 cold all around. What could be wrong? I would imagine nothing at 32K but the mileage seems really low compared to what I have seen other people complain about.
I get those kind of mpg's in town but I went to a 4.56 gear ratio. I'd clean the MAF with a cleaner formulated for it like CRC MAF cleaner. Don't touch it just access it and spray it off a few times.
It is not a good idea to run your tire pressure at anything other than what the manufacturer suggests. Not only do you have less rubber on the road for safe traction, you will prematurely wear out your tires, offsetting any fuel savings.
The tire pressure stated on the door is for the tires supplied with the vehicle. The tire pressure listed on the tire may or may not be higher. I can safely run mine up to 45 psi.

He has a point, the door figures are for the stock conti tires supplied with the truck.
