Plugging Baffles on Stock Air Intake?

Plugging Baffles on Stock Air Intake?
There has been a lot of discussion here about the baffles on the stock intake, value, cutting them off, etc. Has anyone tried putting a plug in them to cut off air flow? Did it make any difference in the sound or response? I am thinking I could wad up a piece of foam rubber and plug the 3 baffles. In theory that should it a straight intake tube and open up the sound. What do ya'll think?

Well, I tried it and there was no real noticable difference in either sound or power. Maybe using foam rubber is too porous? If I could figure this out as an option some of the real mechanics out there must have considered it and given a thumbs up or down.

Well, I replaced the stock snorkel with a piece of 3" PVC into the fenderwell and that made a difference in sound and power. Maybe the two components tegether work well. Almost like a MIT tube.
