I have a 302 that has been bored 60 over, flat top pistons, solid lifter cam, torker II and performer carb. It's red line is about 6,500. It seems everytime I get down on the gas it throws the alt. belt. Any suggestions would be appreciated

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 20-May-01 AT 05:42 PM (EST)[/font][p]Hi, you may need shim out/in the alt. pulley. if the pulleys are not lined up you will toss belts every time. the water pump and the crank may not be aligned correctly either.
