I have two sets of heads that I can put on my 302. One has the casting number C9TE which are the original ones and I understand are '69 truck heads. The others I have are D3UE, I know these are '73 heads but what is a U? I cannot find a U anywhere I have looked. Its not mustang or pas. car. Anybody have any ideas?
The 73's look like they may have smaller chambers and have a twisted shape to them as though it may be some swirl design.
I don't know, but if the 73's are the least bit better than the 69's (actually they are off of a '72 302) let me know.
I have never seen a D3 Windsor style head. Are you sure you don't have a Cleveland style head there. There are D3 Cleveland heads. Your 69 Truck heads have a 58cc chmber which is small compared to most 302 heads. It will make more compression.
Hey, I stumbled onto a new, more complete info source and I found a little info. Accorind to this, the "U = Econoline/Club Wagon Van." My previous sources had no U.
