Hey hope i can get some help my brother lives 2000 miles away and needs help with his gas saver. He says when he is driving it is like the motor stalls after 3 miles he got it up to 65 and by the time he got home app. 17 miles said he could only get it up to 45 i was thinking something with fuel... am i wrong? I had him change the fuel filter that was a cluster and a half you know how the parts stores are they never get the right thing the first time. well that worked for a while he said it was running great didin't drive it though now he tried to take it to work today and it is doing the same thing. Maybe bad gas? any help would be great thanks in advance
I'd try draining whatever gas is left, changing the filter again, putting some of the fuel system cleaner in it, and filling it back up with new gas from a differant gas station. He could pour some of the old gas in a clear jar to see if it looks clean.
Super - 'we' need to know if it is the carb'd or injected version. That helps a lot, even though we may be closer than the 2000 miles away that you are... heh.
Also need some history on plugs/wires/rotor, etc. This engine has a distributor, so he may have some arcing that he'd be able to see at night. If he has injection, he can test the fuel pressure and flow with a $30ish gauge. If a carb, he can pull the fuel line and check for good flow.
Need more information ....
