will a np 203 bolt up on my 94 F-150?
will a np 203 bolt up on my 94 F-150?
So lookin at running dual cases on my Ford and was wondering if the 203 will mate to my E40D. The thought of having lower gears and doing front wheel digs sounds freaking awsome to me!
I'm going to go out on a limb here:
Yes, it will "bolt up" to your e4od, but it will be more in depth than just bolting some stuff together and it's done. You have to get a range box, adapter, lengthen/shorten your drive shafts, not to mention shifters and crossmembers.
There are other options out there, you could run a twin sticked np205 t case, but that still entails some fab work.

IF you're thinking about a 203, then why don't you use some kind of a doubler...?
The 203 is a 300 lb case, and you'd have to build a beefy new crossmember to hold it up, plus it isn't that strong.
A 205 would be good for dual cases, and put a low max 3:1 low range in and combined with your BW, you'd have about 5.6:1 low range.
Or set up a Doubler (range box from a 203).
IF you're asking if the 203 would bolt up to the tranny adapter, then there is a good chance it will bolt up, but you'd have to do something about a frame mount, shifters, driveshafts, etc... and I know I wouldn't go that route.
As for a front dig, then you'd need to twin stick the t cases as well.

hahaha... he didn't say what tires he has, or what he's using the truck for, and it sounds like he didn't really know a lot on the subject, so I just gave some info.
Unless he's go a lot of money to spend on this, I almost don't see it happening, b/c doubler kits aren't cheap, and I'd be willing to bet he doesn't have the equipment or skills to do this. No offense intended, but just judging from the lack of knowledge and info in the OP, he doesn't know what's involved in this. IF it's just for the ability of lower gears then an aftermarket t-case might be easier and in the long run cheaper.
I wasn't even thinking about the whole D44TTB thing, good catch.

Sorry guys, i should have put down some more info on my pickup. It is got a SAS with about 10 inches of lift and 38.5x14.5 swamper sx's, 488s, chromolly shafts, and a true trac, and warn hubs. The reason I was wondering about the 203 is because of doing the dual cases. I want to do the tripple stick to do the front wheel digs and I know about the fab work for the shifters/crossmembers but the thought of the gears/front wheel digs is really appealing to me. Plus I've alread blown my borg once already... Is anyone else running dual cases on their late model here?
