just wondering im thinking of puttting a lift kit on my 96 f 350..it has the stock 4:10 gears but it has a 460 engine in it.do yyou think with the stock gears a 460 would have the power to push the 39 inch super swampers or would i have to regear it?..its automatic not standard..thanks
depends on how much ya gonna be off-road, id say around a 5:13 if its only seing dirt or go with less lift and tire and bump up to a 4:56 if its still driven on the road
thats a good idea, the king pin dana 60 will cause you less troubles, the both will be as strong with runnin the tires and all, but with the kingpin dana 60 you wont have to worry about replacing stupid balljoints
Itll kinda sound like this witrh 4.10s waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa this is all at 35 mph
i'm running 37" SSRs on my stroker and i dont have any issues with 4.10's. course i know you are running the 460 but still, it should have enough power esp for a street queen like mine.
a lift kit is the last thing i would do on a truck like yours/mine. do a shackle reversal (3.5" lift) front and 4" rear lift springs with stock overloads.
