Cold air or not?

Cold air or not?
Hello again, thanks for the input on my other posts. Here it is. I have a 2000 f350 dually with 228,000 miles, that I put my stock air box back onto. I drive about 50k a year, and I took off my cold airintake because my Certified Ford Technition, who is a good friend said that it could ruin my motor, and they can fail. I am trying to make this truck last as long as I can. I just replaced my turbo on because my old one was leaking exhaust between the turbo and the pedistal? (Still can't figure that one out) The truck runs alot better but I have noticed a decrease in Fuel economy before i did the turbo. I don't know what to do. I have a edge three stage programmer in extreme mode, and a somewhat stock exhaust.
Thank You,
Thank You,

Your Ford tech is full of melarchy. Do yourself a few favors:
1. Kick the Ford tech in the nuts
2. Order a couple 6637 filters from Fleet Filter
3. Pick your flavor for an adapter- 3" PVC or ABS or 4" exhaust tubing (do the CCV mod while your at it)
4. Do a search for "6637 cold air" and build yourself a cold air box
If your old cold air kit had a K&N filter, the tech was right to some degree. K&N's are notorious for allowing dust past the filter, check out the lid of my stock airbox after I bought my truck a month ago with a K&N drop in filter:
The 6637 is the ticket as far as I'm concerned. You can also order up a cool cover from a member here if you wish:
They come in several colors with several logo options.

The 6637 is a good mod and intake setup.
