Possibly getting a 03 V10...Performance Upgrades?

I am looking to get a 03 E450 motorhome with a V10. I am a little concerned about the performance of the rig, espacially with my Bronco II on a trailer behind it (6k including trailer). I dont want to start any arguments or anything, I just want to know what I can do to give this rig some more power.

My only experience with the V10 is my buddies 2000 F250 Super Duty 4X4 with 37" tires. I know its slower without being re-geared for the bigger tires. We were out this weekend and pulling some long grades on the way home from the dunes. I have an 07 Tundra 5.7 and about 2500lbs of trailer behind it. I pulled all of the grades with the cruise set at 70. He just disapeared in my rear view mirror when it came to a grade. Thus, why I am so concerned about getting a V10 motorhome and towing my Bronco behind it.

As previously stated, I am not trying to compare my Toyota to a Ford or anything like that. I dont want to start any arguments or flaming. I am just concerned about giving the Ford some more power for a huge rig and towing. Tuner, exhaust etc. I really appreciate any info you guys could share.

I cannot tow a race trailer or toyhauler with my buggy or bronco in it with my 1/2 ton Tundra, so now I am looking for a motorhome and just use my flatbed. Anything that will fit my toys goes from 32-36ft 5th wheels!

Well my guess is that the '00 V10 SD has 3.73 gears...and running 37" tires is absolutely ridiculous! Especially comparing it to your Tundra that is all stock. Put the stock tires back on the V10 SD...and it would smoke the toy. Had to get that out of the way...

However, back to your question...the best is what you already suggested. Banks makes a good exhaust system for V10 RV. A tuner is another great idea...keeping it in a "tow" mode performance.

A valve body for the tranny would help as well (see links).

Now...the V10 RV is not going to win any races, but it is a solid performer for its intended use. Good luck...and...
