question about 99 V10s

I been looking at a 99 f 250 4x4 extra cab with a v 10 this guy has for sale...it has 133,000 miles on it the guy wants $9,000...I never had a ford truck with a v 10.will a v 10 motor last longer than a 5.4l?..reason i ask is my old truck had a 351w and it lasted a little over 200,000 miles so i dont wanna buy a truck with a V 10 with 133,000 if its going to die at around 200,000...not sure i know v 10s came out in 99 so they been around for 9 years.just need some input about v 10s and what you think they will hold up to for miles?....thanks any info will help

With proper maintenence the V-10 will last well over 300K. Try to get service records.

And it is completely loaded with leather ect.
Price is a bit high.

I've seen a nice-looking 1999 F-250 regular cab V10 with 128,000 miles on it that a used truck dealer wants just under $10,000 for here in PA. It looks really clean, but I haven't seen it in person(yet). It seems a little much for a almost 10 year old pickup, but if it runs good and the service records are kept, you're better paying a little more for a truck in better condition. You can always just make an offer, and see what the seller is willing to take for the truck. The V10s are reliable engines. Good luck in your search.

I have seen v-10s that have lasted 400k on ebay. Now remember that those arent with the same trans from the factory. With prop maintence a well cared for v-10 can last 300-400k

engines just dont die when they get to a certain milege. it depends on idliing time, how they were drving, and maintanence

as for mileage dont expect anything better then 14 mpgs. but hey its a 3/4 ton truck!
