Hi all, Still need the dimensions between the front center of the grill, to the bumper on the 1942-47 ford pickups. A picture on how you measured them would be nice. I installed a 1979 Camaro stub under the front end and it came out sweet. That is why I don't have any dimensions. Once I get my dimensions from someone, I can get my front bumper brackets on, and finish the front end.
Also, can any one tell me where to find the original inside rope seals for the doors? I have the new bottom seal.
Thanks in advance,
Lee
Lee, I can't give you the measurement you need for the front because my truck doesn't have the sheetmetal on yet. I saw in the Dennis Carpenter catalog door seals if you want to check them out. PN 78-7320532 phone 1-800-476-9653
Lee, I went to measure mine, then got out there and realized my front grill isn't on.
Are you going to use the priginal front bumper brackets? If so and assuming you matched front axle centerlines with the IFS, I could get the axle centerline to front of frame rail measurement, and where the bumper brackets bolt onto the frame rails...should give you a pretty close match.
Hi Mike,
Hard to beleive all of the members in this site and they can't give me the dimensions that I need.
BUT, Yes, if you would please, find out the; axle centerline to front of frame rail measurement, and where the bumper brackets bolt onto the frame rails. The front axle centerline with the IFS I installed was set up for the original wheel base dimensions, and the grill and fenders are exactally where they belong from the original pickup. So that should work good.
PS. Thanks loholland for the info on the door seals.
Thanks Mike,
Lee
Hey Lee, PM me your email address, I don't think I can attach a pic thruogh FTE's email system, and I'll take a few pics and measurements for you later today.
