Manual transmission questions
1. say you put it in a gear and put the gas to the floor and rev it out.. does the engine rev out like a semi and just sit at a certain rpm or does it rev like a litttle honda and redline and bounce back down?
2. can you get cruise control on a manual?
3. say your sitting on flat road, can you just let the clutch out without giving it any gas to get going in first?
4. what rear end should i get ? i pull some pretty big loads spring and fall (kuz i live on a farm) but i want to get ok gas mileage.
id appreciate any help on any of these questions greatly.. thank you guys

1. If you hit the rev limiter it will just stay there, but you should never have to hit it because it is well above the powerband. I normally don't go over 2000 rpm at alll while driving empty, and 3000 rpm max loaded.
2. Cruise control works great with the manual.
3. You can be going up a 5% hill and let the clutch out in first without giving it gas and it will go.
4. Depends on the weight you're looking at towing, and how much you feel like exceeding the GCWR. If you tow a heavy load and want to stay in the law, get 4.10's or 4.30's. But your mileage will suffer greatly. I've got 3.73's on my dually and it will tow anything, it just doesn't have the GCWR. For me anything under 10k lbs. is basically not noticed behind the truck when towing. The largest thing I've towed in my rig was a broken down semi with a loaded belly dump trailer that grossed somewhere around 80k lbs, that was a challenge for the truck but it did tow it and I was able to get up to 65 mph, (trust me I made sure he had plenty of air pressure left for his brakes.)
To sum it all up, a 6-speed with 3.73's is an awsome truck, and you should get better mileage that with an auto. Empty I can get 20 mpg+, for the last 300 miles I've averaged 19.3 mpg and thats with some city driving.
