Out side air temp way off with snowplow on

08 f-350 6.4 with snowplow on is not getting the proper out side air temp reading, which is cauing the a/c to blow when heat is all the way up. It just seems that the snowplow is blocking the air flow causing the sensor to read the heat from the engine. Has anyone seen or heard about this?

That would make sense. You could try moving the sensor.

I can see how it's possible due to the sensor position. Not sure how long the lead is, but maybe relocate to passenger wheelwell?

I am going to see how long the lead is and try relocating it. I have talked to my dealer and they have not seen a fix for this yet.

I have found that putting the climate control into manual mode keeps the auto system from freezing you out since it thinks it is in the desert.......

I too plan to relocate the sensor. (Another of the looooong list of things that should be part of the snow plow prep package)

You can also lower the plow some to allow air to pass over it into the radiators.

Does the same thing with the winter cover on grille.
Just do your heater manually.

Yep, I experienced the same thing running with a grille cover in PA last week. Locate the temp sender, and you have identified the problem. Go from there. My fix was to remove the grille cover when necessary. Yours could be a couple different choices.

I have the same problem with my plow every time. I raise the temp to 80 or so and the heat returns. Raised it, lowered the plow, no change.

I took a 4" hole saw and drilled a hole in the upper right corner of the plow then attached a piece of dryer vent tube to the hole and ran it over the the temp sensor!
