A buddy of mine scored a pressure regulator with water trap in one and a .01 micron filter from a building his company was tearing down. I'm planning on adding a Sharpe 5micron/regulator to the system. My question is since the filters are great for paint, but could i install a "T" between them to run a sand blaster and other tools? I just don't see the need for .01um filtration for blasting air.
Anyway, i'm scoring big with free stuff, my wife couldn't be happier...
Yes, that would be easy. If you only have one drop, just tee a coupler just before the filter. In fact, you could put a ball valve between the coupler and the filter and shut off the ball valve when you're not painting. That way you keep the filter isolated from the system so that it will stay clean longer.
I am putting in a few other drops off my main line so I will be getting my blaster air from one of those other drops. I will have an additional drop at my lift with a lubricator for my air tools and still another drop, unregulated, near the door of my shop where my tire machine is located and will also be handy for airing up tires or other quick air needs with a car pulled up to the door.
As ReAx said, it's just fittings. Use your imagination and customize the system for your own specific needs.
