I-6 oil pan
My 92 f-150's oil pan rotted out. I have 120K miles on it. The rust bubble on the bottom of the pan started around four years ago. Now the whole bottom of the pan is a rust bubble. Oil leakes out like a sieve. Just wondering if any others had this problem?

One of my neighbors had the same problem on his 91 302, he ended up loosing the engine, I have a '82 and a '84 300, and neither one has even a sign of rust, and the 82 sat for a year and a half, and the 84 sat for 2 years, neither one even shows a sign of rust, guess it probably has something to do with the paint on the newer pans, dad's 90 300 had the paint peel off the pan and I had to paint it, then I coated it with oil, no problems since.

Newer fords have a severe problem with oil pans rusting out,it might have something to do with the grade of steel there using to punch them out.Maybe you should contact Ford to see if there were any recalls concerning this matter,because the oil-pan on my `59 F100 is like brand new.
