Idiot Oil Gauge on 1990 F-150
I gotta a F-150 300 the oil gauge stays the same all the time. How difficult is it to make my current gauge a real working gauge. I have heard about the resistor on the back is this all I have to bypass?

Idiot Oil Gauge on 1990 F-150
Take the instrument panel out and you will find a a 22 ohm resistor soldered on he back of the cluster on the printed circuit going to the oil press gauge. Solder a jumper wire in beside the resistor. Don't get things to hot you can lift the circuit pattern off the mylar backing. Then replace the oil sender on the side of the block with one made for a true electric pressure gage. The ones I use are Standard part # PS60 thats it.
